Country Music Star Says Shes Entered Rehab

Ingrid Andress Apologizes for "Embarrassing" National Anthem Performance, Reveals She Was Drunk

Country Music Star Says She's Entered Rehab

Country music star Ingrid Andress has apologized for her widely criticized performance of the national anthem at Monday's MLB Home Run Derby, revealing that she was intoxicated at the time.

Andress took to social media on Tuesday to address the backlash she's received since her performance, which was widely mocked on social media and prompted calls for her to be banned from future events.

"I am truly sorry for the embarrassment I caused," Andress wrote in a statement posted to her Instagram account. "I know that singing the national anthem is an honor and a privilege, and I should have been more prepared."

Andress went on to explain that she had been drinking alcohol prior to her performance, and that she was "not in the right frame of mind" to sing the anthem.

"I take full responsibility for my actions," Andress wrote. "I know that I let a lot of people down, and I am deeply sorry for that."

Andress also announced that she has checked into rehab for alcohol abuse.

"I am committed to getting the help that I need," Andress wrote. "I know that I have a long road ahead of me, but I am determined to come out of this a better person."

Andress' apology has been met with mixed reactions. Some have praised her for taking responsibility for her actions, while others have criticized her for not being more professional.

Regardless of the criticism, Andress' apology is a sign that she is taking her situation seriously. It remains to be seen whether her apology will be enough to repair her damaged reputation.
