Doll's house belonging to Harry Potter actor to be auctioned
Doll's house and dolls owned by the late Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane are to be auctioned.
The items are expected to fetch more than £200,000 when they go under the hammer at Hansons Auctioneers in Derbyshire on March 21.
Coltrane, who played the beloved Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, died in September aged 82. He was survived by his wife Lady Anne and his three children.
The doll's house was a gift to Coltrane from his wife. It is a large, wooden doll's house with six rooms and a garden. The dolls are all dressed in period clothing.
Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers, said: "This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of Harry Potter history. Robbie Coltrane was a much-loved actor and his fans will be delighted to have the chance to own something that belonged to him."
The auction will also include a number of other items from Coltrane's estate, including furniture, paintings and books.
The proceeds of the auction will go to the Robbie Coltrane Foundation, which supports a number of charities.
Conclusion
The auction of Robbie Coltrane's doll's house and dolls is a poignant reminder of the beloved actor who brought the character of Rubeus Hagrid to life. The items are expected to fetch a high price, but their true value lies in the memories they hold for Coltrane's family and fans.
